How to Clean an Air Conditioner
Abhijit has some great tips on how you can service your AC at your home without any technician support or air conditioning services. A blower is all you need.
You must first dry the AC, meaning if your AC is running for a while and if there is moisture inside it, there is most likely water inside. Before cleaning, you must remove the dust.
Put your AC on fan mode for about 30-40 minutes. Once this step is completed, turn off the AC and unplug it.
Open the front panel of the unit and replace or clean the air filters if they are dirty and full of dust. This is very important to check because if the air filters are dirty, they are blocking the airflow. You can then use a blower to blow out any extra dust in the unit that was missed after removing the air filters.
Optionally, you can use an air conditioning cleaner and purifier to make sure your air conditioner doesn’t have any bad smells when being used. Leave that on for a few minutes before starting the AC again to let it settle. Now, you can plug in your AC again and turn it on once it is clean.
