The next step is to check the ice bucket and see where it’s located. Is it in the right position? The ice maker will stop working if it isn’t in the fridge the right way.

The next thing that needs to be checked is the water filter. A filter that is unable to filter properly will stop working. It is good practice to have the water filter changed twice a year. Sometimes the water line will freeze up, and it needs to defrost before the ice machine repair can begin. Feel free to take a hairdryer to the ice machine to thaw this out. The door switch can also be a conflict, and could actually turn the ice maker off when the door is closed. The last thing to watch for is the water line behind the fridge. If it’s clogged, the water won’t come through to make the ice.
