A Look Into Helicopter Parts
It’s pretty safe to assume that everyone is familiar with what a helicopter looks like, and if you’re lucky maybe you’ve been able to ride in one before. What many people may not know about is the helicopter parts and how they work. Let’s take a look at how the helicopter parts come together.
The first part that we will look at is the rotor blades. Rotor blades are what make the helicopter fly. The reason that these are important is that they allow helicopters to take off and land without going through a runway as planes must do. This allows helicopters to access places that planes are not able to go. Rotor blades are also designed to generate lift. They are designed to be curved on the top and flat on the bottom. This design makes airflow faster on the top which causes the air pressure to decrease.
The tail rotor is another important part of a helicopter and it is different than the rotor blades on the top. The tail rotor counteracts the torque of the helicopter and keeps it stable.
Finally, a very important part of a helicopter is autorotation. Autorotation allows the blades of the helicopter to spin by the force of air moving up instead of the engine. This is a very important safety precaution.
