The Importance Of Patch Management Software For Business Mobile Applications

Mobile app management

Mobile device management, or MDM, is a protocol that significantly reduces the security risks that companies are exposed and the costs they incur to by controlling both the data and the configuration of employees’ mobile devices. It works in close quarters with patch management software, which often is used to help keep these devices more secure. Because 74 percent of all U.S. companies as of February 2012 are allowing their employees to use their own devices at work and because 30 percent of the mobile service subscribers in this country are business mobile users, this need for patch management software is far greater than in the past.

These devices need not always be simple phones, though they largely are. For instance, BlackBerry devices effectively use patch management software programs even though they are considered extremely secure and encrypted anyway. In fact, BlackBerry devices and their encryptions are based primarily on various factors and not just one, like entering a PIN number, so they are more safe naturally than iPhones, iPads, and other devices. But since 20 percent of the 1,000 plus people recently surveyed by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners plan on using their iPads for work, iPad and iPhone security measures are essential.

Patch management software usually is considered the safest of the bunch in encrypting these devices. This is done by allowing for stronger iPhone management systems and protocols. With these stronger and more encrypted systems, companies across the nation can sleep better at night with more protected data.
